The new fast food? Convenience stores add hot, cheap options

In 2016, 22 percent of convenience stores’ sales came from prepared foods like pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, coffee and fountain sodas, up steadily from 13 percent in 2010, according to a preliminary annual report released by an industry association.
