Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by how many bites of ice cream we eat. Or something like that. This year, we got two more opportunities to eat Little Man ice cream — at Congress Park’s Sweet Cooie’s and Lowry’s Rocket Ice Cream — and next year we’re getting four more. Here’s what you need to know about Little Man’s upcoming spots:
Constellation in Stapleton
Expected opening: Early 2018
Design: The Constellation pays homage to the Stapleton neighborhood’s aviation history. It’s named after the Lockheed Constellation, a revolutionary aircraft of the 1930s. The ice cream shop will feature a gravity-defying 70-foot wing hovering above the glass kiosk.
“The design of the Constellation Ice Cream shop was certainly an architectural challenge,” architect Michael Koch said. “This project pushes the boundaries of what is possible, creating a truly innovative form which we hope will have a lasting impression on the Stapleton community. The goal is to turn heads and create an experience of getting ice cream like no other, while reminding us of the cultural history of this piece of land.”
What’s new: The menu isn’t finalized, but we heard that cookie dough ice cream sandwiches, ice cream-filled swiss cake rolls and blow torch-fired Baked Alaska pops in retro flavors like banana pudding and grasshopper crême de menthe are in the works.

Little Man Creamery in Sloan’s Lake
Expected opening: Kitchen opens January 2018; tasting room summer 2018
Design: Little Man’s Director of Operations, Loren Martinez, calls it, ” ‘Willy Wonka’ meets ‘Metropolis,’ minus the creepiness.” Think art deco-inspired, 1920s ice cream factory with a whole lot of whimsy thrown in.
What’s new: The Creamery will be the heart and soul of Little Man operations. The popular brand will finally have a state-of-the-art, industrial kitchen, allowing them to produce ten times what they’re doing now. (Currently, everything is made in a tiny Victorian home on Tejon St.) Once the tasting room opens, fans can come in for ice cream flights and treats.

Churn Ice Cream in Fort Collins
Expected opening: Summer 2018
Design: A 22-foot old lumber churn bucket. The Fort Collins shop won’t break ground until March 2018, so details are still under wraps.
What’s new: The team is still exploring the new-to-them ‘hood, but they’re looking to develop exclusive treats for Fort Collins that encompass the town’s heritage and agricultural roots.

Park Hill location (So new, it doesn’t even have a name!)
Expected opening: 2018
Design: “What is unique and totally new for Little Man is the design,” said Little Man’s marketing director, Basha Cohen. “As opposed to other Little Man businesses who pay tribute to nostalgic past times, the new shop will borrow modern influences of mid-century design balanced with trendy and ultra-hip touches.”
What’s new: Soft serve ice cream!
