Get your breath taken away by the Maroon Bells.
Reach the top of your first fourteener and look down from the clouds.
Make a new friend on a ski lift and shred for so long that your legs are Jello.
This is the outdoors. This is Colorado.
For the past year, The Know has brought you all things entertainment — a one-stop online destination for all the fun going on in Colorado, from the best concerts in metro Denver to an excellent restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
But how can you talk about things to do in Colorado without showcasing the great outdoors?
You can’t. So today we announce the launch of The Know Outdoors.
The Know Outdoors brings the good times straight to your desktop (or smartphone), giving you the 411 on activities right in your backyard or adventures worth the drive. You can build your personal bucket list or use our map feature to customize your weekend plans, picking the sickest ski run and the coolest watering hole in the neighborhood.
The man behind the wheel will be John Meyer. He’s one of the Post’s experts on skiing, mountaineering and endurance sports. (He’s also climbed to 24,000 feet on Mount Everest.)
“We call it The Know because we want to help you know all about it,” Meyer said. “From easy hikes in the foothills to the toughest fourteeners, on trail runs and in mass participation races, in summer heat and on powder days in the dead of winter, adventure makes our hearts sing.”
So what are you waiting for? Colorful Colorado is calling: outdoors.denverpost.com
