We figured that “free ice cream” would grab your attention. Even better when it’s free High Point Creamery ice cream, some of the city’s best. (Check them out in last summer’s must-try ice creams list.)
High Point Creamery’s third location (the first is in Hilltop and the second is inside Denver Central Market) opens Friday, April 6 at 4 p.m. on Tennyson Street, and to celebrate, the shop is giving away $10 gift cards (with purchase) to the first 50 people on line. It gets even better: everyone who visits the scoop shop between 4 and 6 p.m. on opening day gets buy-one-get-one-free pints, scoops and flights (more on those in a second).
That means that spring flavors like sunflower with lemon preserve, violet and lime cookies, cheesecake and dark chocolate with caramel can be yours for approximately zero dollars so long as you brave the not-so-great weather forecast and get out there.
“This neighborhood is so awesome,” owner Erika Thomas said, noting that she and husband Chad Stutz considered the area four years ago for the original shop before opening in Hilltop. “There are families running around and some of the best restaurants in the city are over here.”
High Point super fans know the creamery for its inventive, seasonally changing flavors — and for its ice cream flights. Yes, ice cream flights. Pick five flavors (five!) and either hot fudge or caramel sauce for dipping. Then, experience all the joy that the real world tries to rob you of. You deserve it.
