7 ways you can grow food in spaces you never imagined possible

Nick Mangels was new to gardening a few years ago. He wanted a new, productive hobby but didn't want to ruin the grass or alter the landscaping of his suburban home in Erie. He was able to avoid digging up grass, moving rocks and sawing wood by buying the first few and eventually making these self-watering containers he uses to grow in. These containers connect with a hose/timer system and all the nutrients the plant will need is added at the time of planting. Nick grew over 1,800 peppers and 1,300 tomatoes in his garden the year these photographs were captured (2015) as well as watermelons, egg plant and other veggies – all in containers.
