Promoters began this week by dumping dozens of show announcements on the Front Range, including several at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. But the biggest new show of the young month? That’s easily Zac Brown Band playing at Coors Field, the home of the Colorado Rockies, on Aug. 9, with opener Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real. Tickets to that show — the headliner’s third at the hulking venue — are on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 8. ($43.25-$128.50, livenation.com)
The truTV network, which is home to the Denver-based (and hatched) sitcom “Those Who Can’t,” is sending the guys from its popular “Impractical Jokers” show on the road, including a June 23 appearance at the FirstBank Center in Broomfield. Tickets for “The Cranjis McBasketball World Comedy Tour,” starring The Tenderloins comedy troupe, are on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 8. ($49.50-$69.50, altitudetickets.com)
Hip-hop legends Eric B. & Rakim are returning with an April 9 concert at the Gothic Theatre, following the 1997 revival around the 30th anniversary of their influential “Paid in Full.” Tickets to the 16-and-up show are on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 8. ($43.45-$79.50, axs.com)
Front Range funk-and-blues institution Chris Daniels & the Kings are celebrating 35 years of togetherness, with help from Freddie Gowdy and Friends and Hazel Miller, with a concert at the Boulder Theater on April 13. Tickets are on sale. ($25-$40, bouldertheater.com)
The Colorado Symphony has big plans for the next few months, including this weekend’s Symphonic Tribute to Comic Con: V — the repertoire for which was released this week. Prepare thyself for sci-fi, fantasy, comic book and video game music sourced from Denver native Austin Wintory’s excellent Journey and Banner Saga scores (he’ll be there conducting those), plus “Star Trek,” “Mary Poppins,” “The Lord of the Rings” and more. Tickets to the Feb. 8 concert at Boettcher Concert Hall were still available as of press time. ($10-$61, tickets.coloradosymphony.org)
Also coming up for the Colorado Symphony: The state’s premiere orchestral organization will collaborate with Pink Martini and Mary Chapin Carpenter on July 14 ($46.75-$79.50) and pay tribute to the late, great Purple One with “4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince” on May 7 ($40-$70). Both shows are at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, are all-ages and on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 8. (axs.com)
Now that we’ve mentioned Red Rocks, we may as well dive into this week’s big reveals for the Morrison venue, including: Florence + the Machine (May 20; tickets: $49.50-$99.50), Billie Eilish (June 5, $49.50-$75), Sublime with Rome (June 10, $28.50-$48.25), Amos Lee and Patty Griffin (Sept. 2, $45-$65) and Mark Knopfler and Band (Sept. 10, $60.50-$140.50).
