Get free entrance into Colorado’s state parks on Black Friday

Looking to skip the Black Friday mayhem in favor of spending time outdoors? Head to a state park.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife will make all of Colorado’s 41 state parks free on Nov. 23 for Fresh Air Friday.

Some parks are also hosting hikes and scavenger hunts on Friday. Here are some of the events going on:

Chatfield State Park
Littleton
8-9 a.m.

A group will go on a leisurely, flat, 2-mile walk. Leashed dogs are welcome. Meet at the top of Chatfield State Park dam.

Mueller State Park
Divide
8:30-11:30 a.m.

A naturalist will lead a 4-mile hike on Elk Meadow Trail while keeping a special eye out for winter birds and wildlife.

Steamboat Lake State Park
Clark
9 a.m.-3 p.m.

A guided hike will start at 1 p.m. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the visitor center will have hot drinks and snacks.

State Forest State Park
Walden
All day

The park will have hot drinks at the visitor center and a scavenger hunt for kids.

Barr Lake State Park
Brighton
10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The park has walks planned at 10 a.m. People are welcome to bring pups.
