Free treats for National Lollipop Day and more Denver-area deals starting July 13

Candy land

This giveaway from See’s Candies will definitely take a lickin’ on National Lollipop Day. The candy shop is giving customers a free lollipop on July 20. Flavor choices include chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, chocolate coconut, café latté and more. The lollipops normally sell for about a buck each, so it’s worth a family excursion. The shop is also known for giving away chocolate samples to all who walk through its doors. There are four shops in Colorado: Denver, Littleton, Loveland and Colorado Springs. Shops open at 10 a.m. However, closing times vary by location – from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. sees.com

Vets for pets

Thousands of veterinarians will be in Denver from July 13 to 17 for the annual convention of the American Veterinary Medical Association. On July 15, some of those veterinarians will be volunteering to provide free medical care and other services to animals for pet owners who may not always have the means to take care of their furry friends. The street clinic will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., outside the Colorado Convention Center. It is being led by Fort Collins veterinarian Dr. Jon Geller, founder of the Street Dog Coalition. In addition, hygiene kits will be handed out to homeless pet owners. avma.org

Pancake party

Hungry bargain hunters will flip for these frugal flapjacks. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, IHOP is serving up a short stack of buttermilk pancakes for just 60 cents on July 17. Hop over for the syrupy sweet deal from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Limit one short stack per customer, while supplies last. The price is the exact same as its original price back in 1958. Even though the offer is for dine-in only, those who prefer their pancakes on-the-go can get $5 off their first online order of $25 or more with coupon code IHOPNGO at checkout. Blow out the candles and bring on the butter and syrup. ihop.com

Art break

Great art museums are always evolving, and Denver Art Museum is no exception. This year marks the 125th anniversary of one of our city’s most colorful and diverse attractions. Throughout 2018, join the much-loved institution as they celebrate the museum’s heritage, programming and vision for the future. In honor of its milestone anniversary, on July 20, general admission for adults is only $1.25. It offers quite the stroke of savings, given the regular admission price for adults is $10 for Colorado residents and $13 for non-residents. General admission is free for all youth (18 and under) every day, granting more kids access to art than ever before. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays. denverartmuseum.org/125

The frozen yogurt shop also swirls sorbets. There are four shops in Colorado – Arvada, Centennial, Denver and Littleton. yogurt-land.com
