Broncos linebacker Shane Ray enlisted the help of Steve Harvey to find his mom a date

When you’re trying to find a partner for one of your parents, you may tell them to sign up for a dating website. If you’re a Super Bowl champion, you ask Steve Harvey.

Broncos linebacker Shane Ray reached out to the TV host to find a date for his mom, Sebrina Johnson. Last week, she was introduced to three men and picked one in front of the whole country on Harvey’s show.

“My mom has been everything and more, supporting me, putting me in the right situation to succeed all through my life,” Ray said in his video to Harvey. “Unfortunately, she’s never had a partner or someone to support her and appreciate her for everything that she is and everything that she does. Hook us up with somebody, man!”

Ray then followed it up with these qualities he was looking for: someone willing to put in the work and someone who appreciates a strong woman.

Johnson was brought on the show last Friday, and filled Harvey in on all the hardships their family has gone through. She also added, “The NFL thing just happened by accident. I didn’t know he was gonna be good.”

So, she has a sense of humor.

She then listed qualities she’s looking for, and it was off to a “Dating Game”-style quizzing of three men. Harvey had her ask questions that, as he said, should all be asked on the first date. We’ll wait while you go grab a notepad.

She started with, “What qualities are most attractive to you in a partner?” The first suitor had a pretty simple answer, “A woman who knows herself and knows the lord.” Great job, sir. You kept your cool.

Unlike the next guy.

“What is the one thing you won’t tolerate in a relationship?” she asked. “Honestly, a woman who can’t cook,” said the slouching man in the #10 Steve Harvey jersey. All the men were the lucky recipients of matching jerseys with “Harvey” on the back.

The camera immediately panned over to Harvey, who mouthed “wow” and had a face that can only be described at “ut-oh.” He proceeded to say cooking is an expression of love, and Johnson assured the slouching man she can cook, and she moved on to her third suitor.

“What do you value most in a relationship?”

“COOKING!” Just kidding, he didn’t say that.

He actually said a partner that can match his faith level, someone with a strong sense of family and someone who has an adventurous spirit. The crowd erupted in cheers and clapping.

The questions continued, and we learned one of them had a liver transplant, another couldn’t think of an answer the for same question about what he was thankful for because, well, the guy before him just dropped the mic.

Then, after asking if she could pick two (as she should), Johnson chose the adventurous man with the new liver.

Congrats you two, and congrats to Shane Ray on his new daddy.
