Colorado’s second Shake Shack opens in Highlands Ranch this month

There’s a whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on in Highlands Ranch as its Shake Shack, the second in Colorado, prepares to open on July 11.

The state’s first outpost of the East Coast burger chain opened in RiNo in March, and debuted the Colorado-exclusive Green Chile CheddarShack, a cheeseburger topped with melted white cheddar, marinated green chiles and fresh scallions. The menu also features concretes they concocted with local vendors like Glazed and Confused. Both locations will offer the crave-worthy, Colorado-centric items.

Concretes, Shake Shack’s version of a frozen custard, are made fresh every day. The Glazed Dazed Donut concrete is studded with doughnuts from the local shop, then fresh bananas are folded into a cake batter and the treat is then topped with chocolate and toffee.

Here’s something we didn’t know: The restaurant’s Stand For Something Good campaign donates 5 percent of Pie Oh My concrete sales to the Food Bank of the Rockies.

The joint also serves chicken sandwiches and Vienna beef hot dogs with tasty toppings. Colorado brews include Ratio Beerworks, Great Divide Brewing Company, Denver Beer Co., Funkwerks and Odell Brewing Co.

Shake Shack, 1509 Park Central Drive in the Highlands Ranch Central Park development, will open July 11 at 11 a.m. shakeshack.com.
