$1 coffee during the Colorado Avalanche hockey season and more Denver-area deals starting Oct. 12

Coffee goals

Candy land

It may not be Halloween quite yet, but it’s never too early for a little sweet, spooky fun. Northfield Stapleton (8340 Northfield Blvd.) in Denver is hosting a free family-friendly Candy Crawl on Oct. 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. Little ghouls and goblins, along with their parents, can enjoy candy, hay rides, crafts, contests and more. Plus, there will be lots of not-so-scary entertainment, including a face painter, fire dancer and “Thriller” dancers. Organizers request no scary costumes, as the event is designed for kids. Candy will be distributed at participating retailers; just look for the orange balloons. orthfieldstapleton.com

Table this

All Seasons Rent All‘s semi-annual sale (6550 S. Yosemite St., Greenwood Village) of used table linens comes in time to help prepare for holiday parties and family gatherings. The sale runs Oct. 13-28 and includes large rounds, banquet cloths and napkins in a variety of colors (even more than usual this year), with prices starting at just 75 cents. There will be lots of other party goods on sale, too, including tables, water goblets and champagne glasses ($1 each). This is one of the most popular sales in town, so get there early for the best selection. Store hours are 7:30 a.m.-p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sundays. asrentall.com

Greek life

Quiznos is going Greek again, with the return of three menu items including a gyro flatbread, gyro sub sandwich and Greek salad. Bite into the gyro flatbread for just $1 on Oct. 17. (For those who can’t wait, Toasty Points members can get the special offer Oct. 10-16.) The flatbread wraps seasoned beef and lamb with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, feta cheese, banana peppers and cucumber tzatziki sauce. It usually sells for about $5, so the deal is worth throwing a toga party. Opa! quiznos.com

Gratzi!

First-responders can never be shown enough appreciation for their tireless efforts. To show its support, Romano’s Macaroni Grill is serving up a dish of gratitude. Through Oct. 31, first-responders get a free in-restaurant order of Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti. Police officers, firefighters, paramedics and hospital medical staff just need to show their credentials to get the free lunch or dinner. In the metro area, there are two locations — Greenwood Village and Westminster. (Other locations are in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins.) macaronigrill.com
