Coloradans are freaking out over the first big snow of the season

Aside from a few light dustings earlier this season on Colorado’s mountains, today marks the first snow for much of the state.

It started snowing as early as 7 a.m. in parts of Colorado. Temperatures are expected to linger around the mid-30s along the Front Range for much of the day with a low of 29 degrees tonight.

Ski resorts are rejoicing as the inches pile up and help them on the #RacetoOpen for the season. Meanwhile, Colorado residents took to Twitter to show off the snow in their area.

As we get closer to ski season, make sure to check out how college students can save on season passes and where you can cross country ski 12 times for $99. And if you were looking to buy Winter Park Express ski train tickets, they’re already on sale.
