Corn or flour tortillas, hard shells or soft, traditional or modern … or even breakfast tacos? Why not? Heck, even dessert tacos are a thing.
According to NationalTacoDay.com, last year Americans consumed over 4.5 billion tacos. We’re pretty sure a hefty chunk of that had to be from Denverites, who enjoy their shell-held treats quite a bit.
This year, National Taco Day is Oct. 4. Here are some spots offering deals to celebrate.
Chuy’s, the Tex-Mex titans and a relative newcomer to Colorado’s chain food scene, are offering the addition of a crispy beef taco to any order for $1, as well as $1 Patrón floaters on your favorite margarita, and $1 off Modelo beers. Talk about getting a bang for your buck. Also, for those of you not willing to wait until Halloween to wear your costumes, visit any Chuy’s location dressed like a taco on Oct. 4 and post a photo on social media with #NationalTacoDay to receive a free entrée of your choice, redeemable the same day. Chuy’s has three Colorado locations: In Belmar, at 499 S. Vance St., Lakewood, 720-460-9840; Denver Tech, 8121 Arapahoe Road, Greenwood Village, 720-699-7500; and Westminster, 6595 W. 104th Ave., 303-469-9441. chuys.com.
